Note to News Desks and Picture Desks
Final preparations will be underway for this weekend’s Countryside Live, including cattle and sheep which will be arriving from Thursday evening (22 October). The majority are expected to arrive on Friday. They will be checked in and weighted, and their owners will then be busy getting them ready for the classes the following day.
The Show Director, Bill Cowling and Nigel Pulling, Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, will be available for interview too.
Logistics
If you wish to come along on Friday, tickets and car passes will not be needed, but it would be helpful if you could let Judy or Rebecca know in advance, then we can alert the gate staff.
Countryside Live is centred around the two main exhibition halls, Hall 1 and Hall 2, near Blue Entrance. The Press Room is off Hall 2 (the equine hall). Access to Countryside Live is via Railway Road. Please follow signs to the Showground and turn in off the Wetherby Road (A661) alongside Sainsburys and follow the perimeter road around to Blue Entrance.
Tickets for Countryside Live
Press tickets and car park passes will be needed for the show days. If you haven’t already got these, please arrange to collect them before Saturday as it will be difficult to leave them on the gates, and obviously they can’t be posted! The press carpark is the VIP area, close to Blue Entrance.
